Suspected drunk driver launches car off freeway, survives

MILWAUKEE COUNTY (WKOW) -- A driver survived after launching off a ramp in the Marquette interchange in Milwaukee County early Sunday morning. This is the second freeway car plunge in the county in eight days.

The sheriff's office says the 27-year-old woman driving her car from the south on I-94 was heading west on the Sky High ramp toward Madison, when she launched off a snow bank and went over the side, dropping dozens of feet to the freeway below.

She was taken to the hospital and arrested for drunk driving.

Less than two weeks ago, a pickup truck careened over the side of a freeway near the zoo interchange and plunged 70 feet to the interstate below. He survived.
