Visitor rules to ease at Madison hospitals as COVID-19 cases decline

MADISON (WKOW) -- Hospitals in the Madison area will be easing visitor guidelines in the coming week following a "promising decline in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations locally," according to a combined news release from Madison health systems.

Starting Monday, March 8, UnityPoint Health ‒ Meriter, UW Health and SSM Health will generally allow one visitor for adult patients and two support persons per pediatric patient.

The health systems said masks will still be required in all healthcare settings and those with exposure to, symptoms of, or confirmed COVID-19 should not visit.

Keep in mind, there might be some slight differences to the visitor policies at each health system, so ask questions before you visit.
