MADISON (WKOW) -- A mass vaccination clinic for the Madison Metropolitan School District will take place next week, according to a news release from MMSD.
MMSD is partnering with SSM Health who will be providing 1,200 COVID-19 vaccines to staff prioritized by the district.
“We are excited about our partnership with SSM Health, and very grateful for their support of our school community,” said MMSD Superintendent Dr. Calton D. Jenkins. “We have been working hard to advocate for our staff to be prioritized for vaccination, and this is an important step forward to making vaccines available to all staff.”
The first dose will be given on March, 12 and the second will follow on Friday, April 9.
“At SSM Health, we believe a safe return to school full time is best for the health of our children. Vaccinating our educators is key to making that happen,” said SSM Health Regional President Damond Boatwright. “We are committed to vaccinating those in our communities as quickly as possible and we are proud to partner with the Madison Metropolitan School District.”
MMSD is hoping this effort will allow it to accelerate the vaccination timeline for its elementary, middle school, high school and central office staff and substitute teachers.
