Madison carjacking suspects lead officers on multiple chases

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Department is looking for the suspects who threatened a woman with a gun, stole her car and led authorities on multiple chases.

MPD said they were dispatched at about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday to the 3700 block of Frosted Leaf Drive for a carjacking.

Police said the victim arrived home and was about to exit her vehicle when a gray Subaru Impreza, which was found to be stolen, pulled up next to her. The suspect exited the car on the passenger side, pointed a handgun at the woman and told her to get out. The suspect then got into her vehicle and both cars drove away.

Madison Police officers saw the victim's stolen car and the Impreza driving together at a high rate of speed on McKee Road. Police tried to stop them but quit the chase on Verona Road near the Beltline.

The suspect in the Impreza was seen several times over the next hour by officers in other jurisdictions.

The victim's stolen vehicle was spotted by the Wisconsin State Patrol near Janesville. Troopers tried to stop it but again, the chase was terminated.

If you know anything about this incident you are asked to contact the Madison Police Department at (608) 255-2345.
