GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- With multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl players already missing time, 3-time MVP Aaron Rodgers will be the next key Packer to spend a game at home.
Per atweetfrom NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, ruling him out for the Packers' week nine tilt against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rodgers' top target, star wideout Davante Adams, is still in COVID-19 protocol after testing positive prior to the Packers' win against the Arizona Cardinals. With Rodgers out, second-year quarterback Jordan Love figures to make his first NFL start Sunday.
Rodgers is in the midst of another top-flight season in his 14th year as the Packers' starter, putting up 1894 yards and 17 touchdowns with only three interceptions through eight games.
Third-string quarterback Kurt Benkert tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Love is the only QB on the Packers roster not currently in protocol.
