UPDATE (WKOW) -- One person is dead and several others hurt after a shooting in the town of Beloit Thursday night.
According to a news release from Rock County Sheriff's Captain Curt Fell, at about 6:07 p.m. officers were called to the 1900 block of Porter Avenue for a shots fired complaint. Callers said there were several possible victims.
When authorities got there, three gunshot victims were located. Two of them were taken to the hospital, but the other victim was pronounced dead.
During the investigation, officers were contacted by emergency room staff and told there were three other gun shot victims at area hospitals.
As of 6 a.m. Friday, the Rock County Sheriff's Office said three victims were treated for their injuries and released. Two victims have life threatening injuries and are continuing to receive medical treatment.
No other information has been released.
A news conference is expected to be announced at a later time.
