TOWN OF MONTROSE (WKOW) -- One person was hurt and a number of cats killed in a fire in the town of Montrose Thursday night.
Firefighters from a number of departments were called to the multi-occupancy building in the 6700 block of Henry Road around 8:50 p.m.
All residents were able to evacuate. One person was transported to the hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office reports three cats were killed.
The building is a total loss, with damages around $270,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but sheriff's officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
