One man killed following shooting in Middleton

MEDIA RELEASE *UPDATE*: Homicide Investigation

On Monday, March 20, 2023 at 1:36 PM, the Middleton Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance call at MSI Auto Sales at 3012 Parmenter Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an adult male had sustained a gunshot wound during the altercation. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. This is now considered a homicide investigation.

The female suspect was known to the business and is a former customer. An altercation began due to a dispute over a previous vehicle purchase and the victim is an employee at MSI Auto Sales. The suspect was identified as Jakira T. Anderson, 23, of Fitchburg. Anderson was located shortly before 3:30 PM and was arrested by the Madison Police Department without incident. Anderson has been booked into the Dane County Jail on a tentative charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
