TOWN OF RUTLAND, Wis. (WKOW) -- Multiple agencies responded to a barn fire Wednesday morning that killed goats and chickens near the town of Rutland.
The fire was reported in the 4500 block of West Rutland Road at 6:49 a.m. near Klondike Farms.
A spokesperson for Dane County Communications says the barn was unoccupied.
The structure is a total loss.
The homeowner told 27 News there were about 25 goats in the barn. The homewner estimated between $80,000 and $90,000 in damages.
One firefighter was hurt but has since been treated and released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
