Man charged for bringing guns to Capitol arrested again

MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The man who took guns to the Wisconsin State Capitol demanding to see Gov. Tony Evers in early Oct. was arrested again Tuesday night, according to online jail records.

27 News confirmed with the Dane County Sheriff's Office Joshua Pleasnick was booked into the Dane County Jail at about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday for carrying a concealed weapon.

Records show Pleasnick was taken into custody by the State Capitol Police Department. According to a spokesperson for the department, Tuesday night's arrest "stemmed" from the initial incident that happened earlier in the month.

A criminal complaint states Pleasnick was armed with a handgun on Oct. 4 and went to the reception area of Governor Evers' office and insisted on a meeting to the security detail there.

The complaint states Pleasnick told officers he "...needed to meet with the governor" to explain how "he and other men were...wrongfully accused" in domestic situations.

The complaint says Pleasnick maintained police officers have a bias against men in those situations.

The 43-year-old is scheduled to appear in Dane County Court Thursday on the single misdemeanor charge of carrying a firearm in a public building.
