MADISON (WKOW) -- Police arrested one man after a domestic disturbance that drew a sizeable police response Thursday night.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of Loftsgordon Avenue around 6 p.m. for a domestic incident involving a firearm. The incident led to a standoff that lasted about three hours. The standoff ended when officers arrested one man.
Police say the people involved knew each other and there was an infant in the home with the suspect throughout negotiations with police.
They say there is no threat to the community.
"My officers did a great job. And [they] were able to come to what we consider to be the best possible resolution where we got who we needed to get and no force needed to be used and no one's hurt. So that's a win for us," Madison Police Capt. Jason Freedman told a 27 News crew at the scene.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
