MADISON (WKOW) -- A structure fire on the city's east side has closed a part of Mendota Street as crews worked to put it out Tuesday morning, according to the Madison Fire Department.
The fire was reported at about 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of Mendota Street. The road is closed between East Washington Avenue and Sycamore Avenue.
Officials said no injuries have been reported, and it's believed the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
MFD is warning residents in the area that they may experience disruptions to their water service. That's because of the water needed to fight the fire.
