JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- Janesville police arrested a man officers say stabbed two people inside a Walgreens.
The Janesville Police Department says the stabbing was random and the suspect did not know the victims. It happened around 9:35 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at the Walgreens in the 1900 block of W. Court Street.
Officers and emergency responders who arrived at the scene found two victims with multiple stab wounds inside the store. They were taken to a local hospital where they are both recovering.
The suspect ran away, but Janesville officers and Rock County deputies established a perimeter around the area. They used a drone to find the suspect talking nearby.
Officers identified him as Edward Toyer, 27. The Janesville Police Department said Toyer had blood on him. He was taken into custody without incident.
Police say the attack was unprovoked and the victims did not know Toyer.
Walgreens confirmed to 27 News it is cooperating with police during the investigation.
Toyer, a Janesville resident, is tentatively charged with two counts of attempted first degree intentional homicide and a probation violation.
