LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed two additional tornadoes from the storms on June 22: an EF-2 tornado in Argyle and an EF-0 tornado in Belmont.
The NWS says the tornado that hit Argyle had estimated peak winds of 135 mph. Officials say Apple Grove Lutheran Church took a direct hit.
The tornado that hit Belmont had estimated peak winds of 80 mph, according to the NWS. The agency says there was damage to a barn and trees, and multiple storm chasers took video of the twister.
With these confirmed tornadoes, the National Weather Service has confirmed at least 8 tornado touchdowns during the June 22nd storms.
