Suspicious death investigation, search in Adams County after body found

TOWN OF STRONGS PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Adams County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death in the Town of Strongs Prairie that they have deemed suspicious.

Sheriff Brent York said the sheriff's office received a call on Thursday at 8:19 a.m. that a person had not been able to reach Sharon K. Miller, 62, of Friendship, for three days.

The reporting person said she went to Sharon’s home in the Town of Strongs Prairie. Sharon and Sharon’s son, Jami L. Lumby, 37, were not there at the time.

Deputies checked the property and couldn't find either person. But they did identify recent ground disturbance consistent with digging or the burying of something on the property.

A search warrant to continue searching the area was obtained, and an unidentified body was found concealed on the property.

An autopsy has not yet been performed. The circumstances surrounding the death are still being investigated.

The location of Lumby is not yet known.

Anyone with information about Lumby's current location or information on this case is asked to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 1-877-885-7786.
