TOWN OF NEKIMI, Wis. (WKOW) -- Two people died in a plane crash that happened near EAA Airventure in Oshkosh.
A news release from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office said the crash was about two miles south of EAA Airventure. Air traffic control in the Wittman airport tower first reported it around noon.
When first responders got to the crash site, the plane was engulfed in flames.
The release indicated no one else was on board the plane besides the two people who died. Their names will be released once family members have been notified.
"Our deepest condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased occupants," the news release said.
The NTSB is investigating the crash.
