IOWA COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- The man who was critically injured after the skid steer he was operating rolled over and pinned him underneath for hours has died.
Randy Cox, 63, of rural Dodgeville, died at UW Health University Hospital Madison on Sunday night, according to Sheriff Michael Peterson.
The accident was reported Saturday on private property in a wooded area in Iowa County.
Peterson said Dodgeville firefighters and EMS personnel along with Iowa County sheriff's deputies found Cox pinned from the waist down under the skid steer.
Dodgeville EMS and UW Med Flight nurses tended to Cox, while Dodgeville firefighters worked to lift the skid steer off him.
The initial investigation shows that Cox was operating the skid steer on slope when it rolled multiple times, ejecting Cox, and landing on him. He was pinned for about 3 hours before being found, Peterson reported.
Cox was taken to UW Health University Hospital Madison by UW Med Flight.
