MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- After getting calls from concerned citizens, the Madison Police Department said Monday there was no credible threat to Madison Metropolitan Schools.
In an incident report, Lt. Caleb Johnson said a social media post was circulating that indicated "Madison Schools" would be the target of a school shooting.
After investigating, police found the post was made in Florida and was targeting schools in Madison County, Florida, where police said the incident is being investigated by local law enforcement as well.
Right now, police don't believe that schools in our area are in danger, but they plan to have an extra presence in the area, just in case.
