MADISON (WKOW) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued a special fire order since it's been so dry recently.
That makes for a higher potential for fire danger.
The DNR is reinstating burning permits in 13 counties in the state.
In our area, that applies to all of Columbia, Marquette, Richland and Sauk counties, along with portions of Dane, Grant and Iowa counties.
This means you'll need to get a permit from the DNR before any burning in a barrel, a debris pile and grass or wooded areas.
The restrictions began at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
