Aaron Rodgers is a fan of the Packers' new defensive players

In an interview with Chris Simms of NBC Sports, Aaron Rodgers called the new acquisitions on the defensive side of the ball 'great' and thinks the blend of rookies and veterans added to the fold will pay dividends this season.

Zachary Jacobson of Cheesehead TV writes that the Packers additions are sitting well with the franchise quarterback:

"As much as you love the veterans, it's good to have some new energy and I like what our GM did bringing those guys in." - Aaron Rodgers to Chris Simms

The Packers added fresh faces at edge rusher and safety, arguably the two positions most in need of upgrades, and sprinkled in some rookies in the NFL Draft to help on both sides of the ball.

On top of the coaching staff adjustments on the offensive side of the ball with the hiring of new head coach Matt LaFleur, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy to aid Aaron Rodgers, the Packers spent big in free agency on acquisitions they hope get their defense over the hump. Between outside linebackers Za'Darius and Preston Smith, as well as safety Adrian Amos, the Packers will spend just over $19.1 million dollars on those three contracts in year one.
