Packers WR Devin Funchess opts out of 2020 season

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Devin Funchess, who signed with the Packers this offseason, announced on Instagram that he would be opting out of the 2020 NFL season.

Funchess announced the news on his Instagram account (@dfunch), citing family and their experiences with COVID-19 as the reason to opt out for 2020.

Funchess said in the post he looks forward to getting back with the Packers next year.

The move takes an important piece away from one of Green Bay's perceived weakest positions. Davante Adams, recently named #57 on the NFL's Top 100 list, leads a group of mostly unproven, young receivers into 2020.
