Aaron Rodgers, Mason Crosby Combine To Walk Off 49ers 30-28

Too much time left.

The San Francisco 49ers took a 28-27 lead over the Green Bay Packers with 37 seconds remaining on the clock. The Packers had no timeouts left. The 49ers thought they had the victory wrapped up. They thought wrong.

Aaron Rodgers, who was working behind a makeshift offensive line, had been throwing the ball well all night, and when it came to his final drive, he looked to his most trusted receiver, Davante Adams.

The best receiver in football did not disappoint, and Adams made two catches, one for 25 yards, and one for 17 yards to get the Packers to field goal range. Rodgers spiked the ball with 2 seconds left on the clock and it was all up to Mason Crosby for a 51 yard field goal try for the win.

Crosby came up clutch, as always.

The 30-28 victory over the 49ers pushes the Pack to 2-1 on the season and in sole possession of first place in the NFC North.

Rodgers finished the day with 23 completions on 33 attempts for 261 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Adams, unsurprisingly, led the team in receptions with 12, going for 132 yards. The next closest was Marquez Valdes-Scantling with 3 receptions for 59 yards.

The fact Adams was even available for that final drive was a near miracle as just a few minutes earlier, he took a horrifying helmet-to-helmet hit in a defenseless position and was down on the ground for a few minutes. There was no flag on the hit, much to the frustration of the Packers. Luckily, Adams came back out on the field a few plays later and is just fine.

After the game, Adams explained how he was able to come back so quickly, saying "I'm different". It seems the wind just got knocked out of him.

The Packers defense had a good day, forcing a couple of turnovers. Jaire Alexander had an interception of Jimmy Garoppolo and had a 30 yard return of it. The pass rush also forced a fumble from Garoppolo that De'Vondre Campbell recovered. They were able to constantly pressure Garoppolo, hitting him 11 times and sacking him 3 times.

Next week, the 2-1 Packers return to Lambeau Field to take on the 1-2 Pittsburgh Steelers.
