#12 Oregon 72, #5 Wisconsin 54 - Badgers fall in NCAA Tournament opener

Wisconsin's run in the NCAA Tournament ended early after falling to 12th-seeded Oregon on Friday, 72-54.

Ethan Happ and Khalil Iverson each scored 12 points to lead the fifth-seeded Badgers (23-11), but the team struggled defensively in the second-half against the hard-rallying Ducks looking for the first-round upset.

Oregon's Payton Pritchard scored 19 points and Kenny Wooten protected the rim with four blocks, while Louis King added 17 points and Paul White scored all 14 points of his points in the second half. Wooten had nine points, six rebounds and the tone-setting blocks to give the Ducks their ninth-straight win.

Both teams suffered poor shooting in the first half and halftime saw the game tied 25-25. Iverson slammed down a buzzer-beater dunk with 3.3 seconds left to even the score.

Wisconsin's Nate Reuvers added nine points and D'Mitrik Trice pitched in eight to add to the Badgers' scoreline. Happ also lead the team with eight rebounds.
