Badgers' Johnny Davis Named One Of 15 Finalists For John Wooden Award

In yet another recognition of Johnny Davis' success this season, he was named as a finalist for the 2021-22 John Wooden Award.

The Wisconsin Badgers sophomore guard was one of 15 players named as a finalist for the award. Some of the other finalists are Kentucky's Oscar Tshiebwe, Duke's Paolo Banchero, Purdue's Jaden Ivey, Illinois' Kofi Cockburn, and Ohio State's E.J. Liddell, among others.

This season, Davis has averaged 20.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 2.3 APG. He's burst onto the scene as a two-way star, leading the Badgers on offense and defense. Davis leads the Badgers in rebounds, is second on the team in steals, and third in blocks.

Davis really began to break out during the Maui Invitational and his star has only risen since, which has drawn plenty of attention to him while the Badgers are on offense. Even as other teams have built their defensive game plans around Davis, he's been able to adjust and find ways to contribute and remain productive on both ends of the court.

The winner of the Wooden Award will be announced after the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament
