UPDATE (WKOW) -- A police officer at the scene tells 27 News they are now allowing students and staff back into the building where the incident occurred.
Kloepping posted another update on Verona Area High School's Facebook page around 9:00 a.m., saying, "At this time, the High school has been cleared by authorities for students to return to class following a full building inspection. Students will resume with their normal schedule and we appreciate your patience during this situation. As always, student and staff safety is our number one priority. Thank you!"

UPDATE (WKOW) -- A police officer at the scene tells 27 News students are being evacuated out of the area and into a separate building on campus.
Verona Area School District Public Information Officer Kelly Kloepping posted an update about the incident on Facebook, saying, "Following a suspicious smell in the high school this morning, students were asked to be dropped off at the K-wing building following a main building evacuation. High School staff is with students in the K-wing while authorities are investigating the smell. We are hoping to have a decision before 9:30 am on next steps, so families should stay close to phones/email for updates."
