Monday night crime wave in Madison

A Belleville man was injured in a shots fired case at a gas station off Vernoa Road Monday night.  The 27 year old man was taken to the hospital with a head injury from either flying glass or a bullet fragmant.  The shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. Police don't believe it was random.

Madison police had more than their share of calls throughout the night, with several more "shots fired" cases.  In the other incidents, nobody was hurt but it was a close call for a 6 year old girl at an apartment on Russett Rd.  Police say a bullet came through a front bay window as the little girl watched tv around 8:30 p.m.  Witnesses saw a gunman fire at a moving car. No arrests have been made.

Police were also called to an armed robbery at the Oakcrest Tavern on Old Middleton Rd.  An employee was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects wearing masks as he was cleaning up the bar around closing time Tuesday morning.   The suspects ran off with some cash from the till and alcohol.
