Badger Ridge Middle School in the Verona School District was placed on lockdown Thursday after an adult called and threatened to bring and discharge a weapon in the school.
Verona School District says they placed the school on a level 2 lockdown which secures outdoor entrances and locks classroom doors.
Verona High School was put on a level 1 lockdown as a precaution which secures their outdoor entrances.
According to Verona Police they were called to the school at 11:48 a.m. after a parent called the school and made the threat. Police were able to locate the parent at his home in Madison.
According to the release from police, the parent was upset with the school administrators for an incident at school involving his child and admitted that his statements could cause concern. The parent told police he did not mean any harm.
The parent was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Use of a Telephone and is now at Dane County Jail.
