A number of road projects begin around Madison

**Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15th, S & L Underground will close University Avenue at Grand Avenue in order to complete construction work as part of the Grand Avenue reconstruction project.  This closure will last two weeks until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26th.

**Starting on Monday, May 15th, Payne and Dolan will begin resurfacing Gorham Street from North Butler Street to State Street. Gorham Street will be reduced to one lane from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday, May 15th through Friday, May 19th in order to prepare the street for asphalt resurfacing.

On Saturday, May 20th, Gorham Street will be closed completely and detoured at North Blair Street starting at 7:00 a.m. The full closure is needed to complete the asphalt paving.  The street is expected to reopen around 3:00 p.m.

Intersection cross traffic will be maintained when possible, but there will be extended periods when cross traffic will not be possible, especially during paving as traffic cannot drive on the new asphalt until it has properly cooled. Driveway access will be maintained except for short periods of time until the new asphalt has properly cooled.

If unexpected rain delays paving, Gorham Street will be closed starting at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 21st or possibly 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22nd for paving operations.

**Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15th, InterCon Construction will close South Breese Terrace between Regent Street and Monroe Street in order to install underground utilities for Madison Gas & Electric.  The closure is expected to last approximately three weeks. The Southwest Commuter Path will remain open at all times during this work.

**Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17th, Parisi Construction will close Tennyson Lane between Kipling Drive and Packers Ave. The closure is needed to install underground utilities across Tennyson Lane.  Tennyson Lane will reopen at 2:45 p.m. on the same day.
