A teen suspect was taken into custody following a Sunday armed robbery at the 4602 Verona Road Citgo gas station. Police say the suspect is also a person of interest in a series of recent hold-ups at area gas stations and convenience stores.
Madison police say by using surveillance video of the Sunday robbery, they were able to send out a description of the getaway car to other officers. Just after 5 p.m. Sunday, the car was spotted on Mineral Point Road near Grand Canyon Drive.
The car pulled into a parking lot and two people got out. One was a suspect in Sunday's armed robbery. A weapon was also found inside the car.
17-year-old Cody D. Shell was arrested for armed robbery. Police say the teen is a person of interest in a series of recent armed robberies.
Shell is expected to face additional armed robbery counts as the Violent Crime Unit continues to investigate.
