OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) _ Authorities say a 28-year-old Oshkosh man was fatally shot by police after he drove a car at an officer.
Oshkosh Police Chief Dean Smith says Isaiah Tucker was pronounced dead at a hospital after he was shot early Monday.
Authorities were called about someone trying to take a woman's vehicle. When two officers arrived, the car crashed through the garage door and got stuck in the yard. Smith says as one officer tried to remove Tucker he accelerated toward the other officer, who opened fire. Tucker fled in the vehicle and was found hiding in a shed, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both officers were wearing body cameras. The cameras were turned over to the state Division of Criminal Investigation, which is investigating. The officers were placed on standard administrative leave.
