An Uber driver punched his passenger and took the man's wallet early Sunday morning, according to an incident report from the Madison Police Department.
The incident happened on Grand Teton Plaza around 2 a.m.
The Uber rider hailed a ride from the University Drive area. He fell asleep in the car. When he woke up he was on Grand Teton Plaza, an area far away from his destination. Soon after, the driver and another man in car punched the rider, then stole his wallet full of cash and credit cards. The two suspects dragged the man out of the car and left the scene. The rider was not seriously hurt.
