Milwaukee alder: Armed subcontractors not tolerated

MILWAUKEE (AP) _ A Milwaukee alderman says a sewer subcontracting company doing business with the city has been asked to explain why three of its workers were apparently armed with handguns while working on the north side.

A photo of the three American Sewer Services employees got some traction on social media causing it to come to the attention of Alderman Russell Stamper on Monday. The photo shows two men wearing what appears to be holstered firearms and a third with an apparent weapon in his hand.

The city has a policy prohibiting firearms in the workplace. Stamper says American Sewer has been asked to speak with the city Tuesday about the matter.
