2nd crash at Dodge County intersection this month leads to serious injuries

Authorities say a child has potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash Sunday afternoon.

According to Dodge County Sheriff's Office, a car cut off an oncoming vehicle at the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 28/67/175 in the town of Theresa around 3 p.m. The driver of the car that drove in front of the other, a 35-year-old Reeseville man, was taken to a hospital but is expected to survive. An 8-year-old child passenger was also hurt and taken to a hospital with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries. A 60-year-old Theresa woman was alone in the other vehicle and was also hurt.

Authorities say they're still investigating the crash, but believe the driver who didn't yield the right of way at the stop sign likely caused the crash and lack of seatbelt use contributed to the seriousness of the injuries. This is the second serious injury crash at the same intersection in the past two weeks, with similar circumstances.
