A former Beloit Memorial High School substitute teacher has been arrested and charged with two felonies after being accused of repeated sexual assault of a then 14-year-old.
Tyler J. Edge, 24, of Chippewa Falls is accused of assaulting the student while Edge was a substitute teacher at Beloit Memorial High School and at Edge’s home in South Beloit in spring 2017, according to a police department news release.
The Beloit Police Department and the Chippewa Falls Police Department worked together to arrest Edge and to file search warrants for Edge’s electronics on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Felony charges were filed in Rock County Circuit Court on Monday.
Edge was employed by the School District of Beloit as a long-term building substitute from August 2016–July 2017.
He is currently a teacher in the Chippewa Falls School District and has been placed on unpaid leave effective Wednesday, Feb. 28.
The Chippewa Falls School District and the School District of Beloit are cooperating with the investigation.
The Beloit Police Department is working with the South Beloit Police Department in its investigation.
