DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning for deteriorating ice conditions on area lakes. The recent warmer temperatures have resulted in changes to the stability of the ice, and open water exists in many areas, according to a news release.
The sheriff's office issued the notice Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
Marine and trail deputies recommend people stay off the ice, but if you do go out, deputies recommend having appropriate flotation and life saving devices such, as ice picks and life preservers.
