The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office says the man who was hit and killed by a car Friday night in Madison is 72-year-old Gregory Nametz of Madison.
Police say Nametz was walking with his wife along Midvale Boulevard Friday night when a car driven by 19-year-old Benjamin Cortes jumped the curb and hit the couple. Nametz's wife was taken to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. After being taken to the hospital, Cortes was arrested and moved to the Dane County Jail on Sunday afternoon.
Preliminary autopsy results show Gregory Nametz died of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Police say the couple's dog was not hurt.
