Driver hits fire hydrant, leads deputies on chase with hood up

BLOOMING GROVE (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's office arrested 46-year-old Jennica Stein after they say she took off when they tried to pull her over.

It happened at around 1:45 A.M. on Friday morning on North Fair Oaks Ave. at STH 30 in the Town of Blooming Grove.

When Stein took off, she allegedly ran off the road on Mayfair Ave. and hit a fire hydrant, heavily damaging her car.

Police say Stein continued driving, leading deputies on a low-speed pursuit. The sheriff's office says during the pursuit, the vehicle was smoking and its hood was up.

Eventually, Stein was pulled over on Brigham Ave. at Cherry Ave. in the City of Madison.

Stein was taken to the Dane County Jail and faces tentative charges of Felony Eluding and her 3rd OWI. She also faces several other traffic-related charges, as well as a possession of marijuana charge.
