The Blanchardville Fire Department confirmed a tornado on the ground about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
At 3:25 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Monticello, or 12 miles north of Monroe, moving north at 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
A tornado warning had been issued from around 3:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. in portions of Green and Dane Counties. The system's strength weakened as it made it's way into Dane County Tuesday afternoon.
