(Washington, DC) -- A Supreme Court ruling will prevent Wisconsin's public-safety unions from collecting "fair-share" fees from non-union workers. The five-to-four decision handed down yesterday in an Illinois case will extend the changes made when Wisconsin passed Act 10 in 2011, curtailing union powers. Under Act 10, public-safety unions continued to be allowed to collect "fair-share" fees. The Court's ruling strikes down such an exemption nationwide.
