Scorching temperatures force Excessive Heat Warning Saturday

MADISON (WKOW) -- An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for all of Southern Wisconsin through Saturday.

Temperatures will once again reach the middle 90s with mostly sunny skies. Dew points are also expected to be extreme, jumping into the upper 70s making it feel suffocating outside. The combination of both high temperatures and high humidity will make it feel like 102-109 degrees.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.

The hot temperatures will come back down Sunday, but total relief  isn't in sight with highs still reaching the upper 80s.

A few thunderstorms will also be possible Sunday as a front slides into the area.  Stay cool!
