UPDATE (WKOW) -- A man is seriously hurt after a shooting in Fitchburg Wednesday night, according to the Fitchburg Police Department.
Police said they were called to the 1900 block of Pike Drive for a gunshot victim at about 10:15 p.m. The man who was shot was located and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police believe he will survive.
During the investigation, officers learned several suspects entered an apartment and attacked the victim. Police said "numerous shots were fired."
The suspects left the scene. One of the suspects may have been hurt during the attack.
Police have only released the description of one suspect.
- Black man, short hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, heavy set, wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue shirts.
This does not appear to be a random act.
