Evacuations complete in Rock Springs as water rises

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Authorities say evacuations are complete in Rock Springs after water rose quicker than expected early Thursday morning.

Authorities tell 27 Meteorologist Guy Brown at least eight people had to be rescued overnight. They also say the Dells Army Ducks assisted in rescue efforts.

The Baraboo River at Rock Springs will crest late Friday afternoon.

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- Evacuations are in place in Rock Springs as water continues to rise, according to Sauk County Emergency Management.

County leaders say if you have water around your house and can't get out, call 911.

A shelter has been opened at the West Square Building located at 505 Broadway in Baraboo.

Kobussen Buses, Ltd. will be providing transportation to the shelter or an alternative location.
