Madison cop shoots, injures man

A Madison police officer shot a man Saturday afternoon after investigators say the man pulled a knife on officers called to a battery near Upham and North Seventh streets. The man is expected to recover from his injuries. He was shot one time. Police say he assaulted another man. He left the scene before police arrived, but the officers found him nearby. Police say he threatened the officers as they got close to him.
