Middleton Fire Started by Lightning Strike

 

 Lightning apparently caused a fire at a home in the Town of Middleton Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 4500 block of Ellington Way in the Town of Middleton around 2:00 p.m. The fire is out now, but flames and smoke were clearly visible when crews arrived.

Dane County Communications says it got three other calls for lightning strikes within the same time frame. One was at Duluth Trading Company in Belleville. There was another lightning strike to a home in the 3300 block of Prairie Glade Road in Middleton and a fourth at 58 Cherokee Circle in Madison.

Dispatchers say the Town of Middleton lightning strike did cause a fire, but there weren’t reports of any other fires in the other incidents.
