Verona Area High School went on lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
District officials sent a note to families to let them know they put the school in “building secure” mode around 1:30 p.m. because of a possible threat outside the school.
The message says students continued going to class, but all exterior doors were locked after an unspecified social media threat, according to the district. The student who made the threat receives educational services off site but is a VAHS student.
Verona police officers were called to provide security and help with the investigation.
