Michael Johnson to return to Boys & Girls Club of Dane County

Former Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson plans to return to Madison and resume his work for the organization.

The Club announced the news Thursday morning.

Johnson left his job at the Boys & Girls Club in Madison in July, to take a position with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.

“My time away has only reinforced that this is my dream job, and I appreciate the opportunity to rejoin this incredible staff and champion the great work they have continued to do for the community,” said Johnson.

The Boys & Girls Club is looking forward to having Johnson back.

“Michael’s home is here at Boys & Girls Club of Dane County, and we’re eager to bring his trademark passion back to the team,” said Boys & Girls Club Board Chair Jenny Meicher Santek.

He will rejoin the Club on Dec. 15, 2018 as the CEO.

Former Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson plans to return to Madison, after announcing he was taking leave from his job in Cincinnati.

Johnson left his job in Madison in July, to take a position with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati. This week, reports emerged of conflict with the board’s president.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, Johnson announced he will be leaving Cincinnati in about a month, to move his family back to Madison. He says he’ll share his future plans soon.

A news release from the United Way says the matter has been resolved and Johnson will be stepping down as CEO in the coming weeks, parting ways on friendly terms.
