Four people picking up trash Saturday morning along a road in Chippewa County were hit and killed by a pickup truck.
The four people were part of a Girl Scout troop doing a community service project. The dead include three girls and one adult. A fourth girl is in critical condition.
The 21-year-old driver of the pickup truck left the scene near Lake Hallie, but later turned himself in. It's not clear why or how he lost control of his vehicle.
