Four juveniles arrested in Waunakee

Waunakee police officers have arrested four juveniles who allegedly led them on a chase in a stolen vehicle.

The Waunakee Police Department says around 8:20 a.m. Monday, officers got a report of a burglary on Woodbridge Trail. The resident confronted the suspects who drove away in a black Ford Fusion. Police say from the license plate, they knew the car was reported stolen from Middleton.

Police located the vehicle within minutes, but the driver would not stop. Waunakee officers say they pursued the vehicle onto Highway Q, where the vehicle lost a tire. Four juveniles ran from the car.

Officers chased the suspects and with the help of Dane County Sheriff’s deputies and Middleton police officers, all four suspects were taken into custody.

The Waunakee Police Department says the four males range in age from 14 to 16. They were taken to the Dane County Juvenile Reception Center and are booked on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent, Burglary, Resisting/Obstructing and Officer and Recklessly Endangering Safety.
