Three armed robberies in Madison likely connected

MADISON (WKOW) — Police believe three armed robberies in Madison that happened within 40 minutes of each other are connected.

The crimes began around 8:45 p.m. Thursday when two men robbed the BP at 4325 Mohawk Drive.

About six minutes after the BP robbery, two people robbed the nearby Rocky’s Liquor Store at 4217 W. Beltline Highway.

Around 9:20 p.m., police were called to the BP at 2801 Atwood Avenue for an armed robbery by two men.

In each case, police say the suspects showed the clerk they had a gun, got cash and took off on foot.

The suspects have similar descriptions in each case:

  • Suspect 1: African American male, 5’9”-6’0”, thin build, between 18-20 years old, wearing a mask and armed with a black handgun
  • Suspect 2: African American male, 5’7”-5’8”, medium build, 19-21 years old, wearing a hooded sweatshirt

None of the clerks were hurt.
