MADISON (WKOW) — The Kwik Trip store on East Washington Avenue will start closing early because of an “increased pattern of crime” in the area, according to company officials.
Kwik Trip leaders tell 27 News that their store at 3546 East Washington Avenue will begin closing at 10 p.m. for the next two weeks. After that, the store will close at Midnight.
This is coming after a shooting over the weekend inside Visions Night Club, which is near the store. Early Sunday morning, four people were shot and one person was stabbed during a fight at the night club. As of Tuesday morning, at least one suspect is in custody.
Kwik Trip officials say the decision to close the store was not because of the incident itself, but rather because of an “increased pattern of crime” in the area.
